2w® 1% Inclusion Rate: Affordable Technology
Each d2w additive has been formulated for addition to the resin at 1% w/w. ie 1% of additive and 99% of resin.
The low addition-rate means that the additive is generally not invasive
to the process and in most cases the process can be run under the same
nominal operating conditions as the standard product.
d2w® Food Contact Status (FDA Grade) EC
D2W® complies with EU directive 2002/72 EC and its amendments (related
to plastic materials intended to come into contact with foodstuffs)
subject to any restrictions imposed by specific migration limits. FDA
The polymers and additives used in the composition of d2w® appear in
the regulations published by the Food and Drug Administration (USA):
CFR Chapter 21 sections 175.300, 177.1520 and 178.2010, and are
therefore suitable for use in food contact applications subject to any
restrictions described in the regulations.
A number of alternative degradable additive formulations have been
developed to meet specific performance requirements. Whilst some of
these are unique to individual customers or products, the below sets
out the core selection of additives which are most widely used.
